Callie with Dr Jensen

Callie had the opportunity to interview Dr. Michael Jensen from the Ben Towne center for childhood cancer research. Dr. Jensen could not have been more of a gentleman.

Ben Towne Foundation - Our Story

In the aftermath of Ben’s illness and life there have been times when we wish we could be done — that we could turn our backs and walk away from what we have seen. But the reality of Ben’s journey and the truth that we now know — that pediatric cancer is the number one disease killer of children — will not let us; for there is work to be done. And we intend to do it. We will be a voice for pediatric cancer research — a voice for children who cannot speak for themselves. This is our story.

Ben Towne Center T Cells Interacting with Neuroblastoma Cells

"What you are watching is the elimination of human neuroblastoma tumor cells (the large cells you see in the beginning of the video) by reprogrammed T cells we are developing for a clinical trial (the small cells that are moving around like little Pac-men). Notice the absence of tumor cells and the presence of lots of T cells by the end of the video!"
